My 2010 Playlist

Hello Humans,

IT'S NEW YEAR'S EVE!!

HAPPY NEW YE........wait. We haven't got there yet, couple more hours to go.

Slow Down.

Anyway whether you're interested or not i'm going to swim through what my beloved and I have been blessed with musically in 2010.

Now.

It was hard to choose an order from 10 to 1 but I managed to pull it together (with a few just under the top ten) so let's get started!

10th

Coldplay

It took me 8 years and a wrestle through a CD collection to get to these four men and i'm sorry that it took me so long for me to get to them.
With four studio albums to their name and a fifth in the works for 2011, Coldplay will continue to make history.

9th

Why ninth? The reason for this is a terrible and lazy one. I only got through the whole entire mixtape.....yesterday.

Right.

Why I keep missing talent like this until the last minute I couldn't tell you. His lyrical content is out of this world and I wish this male human all the best in the future because it has to be bright. (Click his name to download the mixtape.)

8th

Professor Green

It's Mr. Green!

Fresh from Hackney....my place of birth (oi oi!), his debut album 'Alive til i'm dead' surprised me to say the least. Cheeky minx flow with the matching neck tattoo, this has been a great year for him musically (not sure about the twitter beef with Wiley though)

Hopefully more to come in 2011 ey?

7th

Tinie Tempah

Oh my. Mr Tempah BLEW me away this year with his debut album 'Discovery'. Track to Track...not one skip. Ever.

With Jungle/ Drum and Bass elements flying everywhere panning from left ear to right he had me hooked.

Tell me you weren't passing out this year?!

Brilliant. Big year for Mr. Tinie (How ironic).

6th

Drake

Drizzy Drake had me singing 'Oh you fancy huh?' every single time I left the nail shop, the hairdressers and after every new purchase.

We all survived the Young Money invasion during 2010 seeing Drake, Nicki Minaj and the rest of the team go on a rampage while Lil Wayne was away.

More singing than rapping but nonetheless it was on repeat for about a month until..........

5th

.......Eminem came out with this.

He did exactly what it said on the tin. Recovered.

Next.

4th

Talib Kweli

Talib Kweli and Hi-Tek (Reflection Eternal), the usual suspects (Mos-Def, Bun B, Jay Electronica) and few new features (J.Cole and Estelle) gave us 'Revolution per Minute'.

Conscious Rap music at its best.

3rd

Shut your mouth.

No.

Jam your hype my friend.

Coming out of the land of Birmingham we have Romo.

Where did I find him? Twitter and I wasn't even looking but very glad that I did.

Considering my ears are used to nothing but music from London or the U.S, I was extremely shocked when I downloaded his mixtape and had a listen.

He's been popping up throughout 2010 and will be making a steady mark in 2011. (Click his name to download the mixtape.)

2nd

J.Cole

MY BABY!

Yes, in my dreams.

Mr. Cole. Graduate and talented musician. Fell in love from the intro and have been in love ever since.

He's been featured in none other than HEAT Magazine. He's here to stay.

His mixtape 'Friday Night lights' has to be one of the best things i've come across this year.

We are getting married.

1st

Kanye West

Just go and buy the album.

I have nothing else to say.

Who missed the top 10?

Janelle Monae - The Archandriod -  Due to lack of memory. Brilliant Album.

Bilal - Air Tights Revenge

Diddy Dirty Money - LTTP - Clearly down to the shock of it being good.

J.M.E - Blam!

Miguel - All I Want Is You - Due to late release

Rick Ross - Teflon Don - To this day I still prefer the 'Trilla' Album.

Well.

That's it. Some are missing clearly because I don't remember so far into the year it has gone super fast! Overall it has been a great year musically and i'm looking forward for all the new releases to come!

A big thank you to everyone who had a look at my blog this year, only been taking care of it for the last few weeks and now have over 1,000 views!

What a blog virgin.

More to come from Me, my MacBook, Music and Madness.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Shy

It's Free!

Free.

Got your eyes already. Who doesn't love freeness? Don't lie. To be honest I have bought only two singles and two albums throughout the whole year.

Bad girl.

On that note let me share what I have downloaded this week with you all.

1st.

Mr Funk Butcher. The Funky/house DJ. The Producer. The Man.

Why I've never blogged about him before I can't tell you. Once again...

Bad girl.

This year he hasn't stopped working from releasing a top 10 hit and his material being played on radio 1 the only way this man can go is up.

So what did you download? Get to the point woman!

Alright.

Every week he is kind enough to give you the download link to his radio show podcast and now I have spread it to you.

Catch him on RINSE FM Friday's @ 5.

Enjoy!

Throwback Post!

I-pod on shuffle and it happens to fly past this track.

Big Brandy fan in the 90's had the cassette (remember those things?) and everything. Very big in her day but the weave and the rapping didn't cut it last year though. Sorry.

Overall Brandy was great.

Sorry I didn't tell you about this before. I Apologise.

Hello humans!

How are you doing?

Good?

Good!

Right. Here we have an up and coming artist who goes by the name of 'Gambit Ace'.

After going to a couple of his performances and listening to his mixtape 'So Sporadical', I am a fan and would like you to 'get to know' about him.

The stage presence, the lyrics and the brain on his head will get him very far. Wish him all the best in the future.

He is not your typical 'I rock my shades in a rave' artist. This is a 'conscious music' human.

Check out the little snippet below.

Enjoy!

Yeah, you guessed it. It's not really from me it's from Nana Rogues, the up and coming music producer I keep yapping bout.

Me and my Diddy Beats like what we've heard (Currently doing a little shimmy in front of the laptop now) so I think you guys should too.

Enjoy!

Ooooh before I forget.......HAVE A LOVELY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!

Call 911....

So Tank's new album 'Now or Never' has been released in the U.S. and unfortunately his sales weren't as good as I hoped only reaching No.38 in the Billboard charts. (At the time that I checked may have changed but i'm sure there won't be any significant difference to his position.)

Sigh.

With that said, he DID sell more than Ciara.

I simply don't understand it, can't America see what "Tools he's working with?"

I may have to start a petition.

Do words mean anything?

Here we have Bobby V (Formerly known as Bobby Valentino but due to legal reasons he had to cut it short, identical to his height even.)

The song isn't that great in my opinion but the concept of the video is absolutely beautiful.

Watch it to see what i'm on about. Hopefully you get it.

NEW: OvaShotv: Wonderboy - The One & Only

I quite like this.

Feel free to subscribe to the youtube page (Common sense will lead you to further instructions on how to do so.)

My twitter associate @Overshojay (Follow him if you're on there) is behind the video.

Take a peep!

Enjoy.

LOUD!

Since I've seen this advert for "LOUD, The new fragrance by Tommy Hilfiger" (Said in a typical voice over tone) I've been on the hunt for the artist behind the soundtrack and I've found them!

It's done by the Ting Tings...... behind the 'That's not my name' track. No, not Rihanna's 'What's my name' these guys tell simply tell you that you've got it wrong. The song's entitled 'We're Not The Same.'

Although after listening to the full track, I decided that the advert clip was more worthy of posting but it's good (to me) nonetheless.

I wonder if the perfume smells nice...hmmmmm.....think bubble......

"ToYz"

Hello humans,

I don't really use my Facebook account anymore but checked it today and came across a link on my wall.

Now I usually curse whoever posts links on my wall but I couldn't get mad at this one.

I would like to introduce you to a group named "ToYz" yeah...the title of the post.

Two lovely ladies (One I do know 'Hi Kristina!', the other I don't...sorry girl in the back we'll get there) with a pair a reasonably set lungs.

Didn't even she was into music before....a good look! All the best girls!

Enjoy the snippet.

Bet y'all thought I knew the one positioned at the back. Typical.

90's Baby

Clean phone boxes, Reebok Classics and Nike Air Max's Jammer takes us.....that's right.......Back to the 90's with his latest video.

Bringing back the good ol' house party vibes with a splash of 'Murkleman'/'BBK' madness.

Bushkin's headtop always keeps my soul entertained.

Enjoy.

I have something for you.......for only 79p....

KEEPIN IT REAL IS OUT NOW!

GO AND GET IT! (Find the lovely link below)

Romo - Keepin' It Real

Enjoy!

My J.A.M Track

As a new idea popped up in my head, I thought of putting it on here. Every week I have a track which never leaves my ears so much so I start reciting the lyrics to any and everyone I come across.

So what i've decided to do is called whatever track it happens to be my J.A.M track of the week.

"What do the initials stand for?" I hear you ask....Jump Around and Move. (This form of movement is not literal 100% of the time.)

 This week's J.A.M is Romo's 'What I'm on'.

Enjoy.

The name's Tank. Wear it out.

I would like to introduce you to Tank.

If you haven't heard of him before, he is a r'n'b singer from the U.S. Associate of 'The Underdogs' music production team (who have done tracks for the likes of Tyrese to Pixie Lott) his music career started off as a backing singer for Ginuwine.

Going onto co-producing Missy Elliot's 'One Minute Man' and forming a group with Tyrese and Ginuwine himself (Known as TGT), he is now on his fourth studio album entitled 'Now and Never'
Which is to be released December 14th (U.S Date, I'm not sure about the U.K)

His seductive voice can blow candles out in my opinion. What strikes me is that he has only got ONE U.S No.1 under his belt!

Check out his track 'Celebration' featuring Drake.

We are getting married.

BLOW!

Hi Humans,

A random shuffle on the I-Pod and Cheyenne found this and hasn't stopped listening to it since.

It's Ke$ha.

The female who wore silver lipstick at the AMA awards and fell into a bath in her first video 'Tik Tok'. Yes. She's just a bit 'vibrant'. I must say the track in my opinion is quite infectious. Hopefully it gets released.

Press Play.

Kid CuDi, let's arrange a date. I'll buy the popcorn.

Hello humans.

Here we have Kid Cudi.

The love/hate relationship we share lives on.

From the Man on the Moon II album, we have REVOFEV.

End of blog post.

The apple doesn't fall far from the tree.......

I was on a downloading spree and I came across a song entitled 'Pain' by Tai Jackson. Bopping my head on the bus thinking 'Wooo this could be my new jam! Who is this Tai guy?" I didn't think for one minute he was a Jackson straight off the famous family tree. (Hey, I forgot about him.)

Have a listen and see enjoy.
